Town is doing quite poorly on its own. The only scum to die are due to non-town actors.

And they don't even realize how poorly they're doing. While they're happy lynching players who might become threats, they're advancing the scum victory condition. That is, shortening the game and moving it closer to a state where the scum win.

Pleo, I'm curious.
Let's assume that Texcat got lynched D1, and we both survived the Night.
I seriously entertained the idea of trying to recruit you on Day 2. Would you have taken it?

Oh, and me too... I had a conditional Day action to recruit Pleo if he survived the lynch

If I were town or scum, I'd always refuse recruitment.
As a third-party with a "must be alive to win" condition, I'll always take the offer.
As a third-party with a different victory condition, it'd depend on how close I was to achieving it. In this game, on Day Two, assuming as counterfact that texcat was lynched and revealed as a serial killer PFK, Hal was Day-killed and revealed as town, and Drain revealing I was third party, I'm not sure. I'd be mostly out of lynch danger (what are the chances of two serial-killer PFKs? especially when someone is confirming I'm third-party.), but only 20% of my way to victory. I think my instinct would be to refuse, to keep going for the self-win, but rationally, picking a party would be the better odds. So, I'd probably end up accepting.
Of course, I'm not sure if the Joker is a recruitable third party or not. I can't find a list saying who's recruitable or not.

Of course, I'm not sure if the Joker is a recruitable third party or not. I can't find a list saying who's recruitable or not. I didn't make the offer D1 for two reasons. First, I wasn't convinced you would accept. Early on (just after your claim) I thought you wouldn't want to know. Second, I was worried about the possibility of you being lynched D1. However, I reckoned if you survived D1, then your chance of survival improved a bit with successive Days. Also, with the level of "let's kill him now" coming your way, that joining a team gave you a better chance of winning even if you didn't survive very long. I didn't think of applying a conditional order. On another note, if I had been alive Today, I'd have forgotten about the US going onto DST, and may have missed the vote.

Wow, what a complex and mind boggling game this is!
I feel really sorry for scum, they have had a really rough time so far, though I'm liking Pizzas play and think he looks very towny atm.
Well I got part of my theory right. When Ed died and the bat suit disappeared, I figured it had probably been passed on to another scum team mate. Funny thing is, I thought the Robin suit would somehow have done the same thing with the third parties, got that totally wrong!

I'm so confused about what's going on except that it appears I'm pretty much completely wrong about everything.

Except that the fear of scum recruitment was way overblown. God, this is making me pissy as hell. And it's not helping that I, who am around and online, died and everyone else is apparently out celebrating. Fuckers, talk! I spent all day waiting for Day to come and I don't even get to play. *pouts* (And I also found out that the only reason I died is because I'm a mason, Someday, I want to be NKed and find in the scum thread that someone said, "Gee, that IS seems to have everything figured out. He's our biggest danger and must be eliminated immediately.")

Wonder why the scum aren't thinking of the third parties as recruitable -- a couple of them did claim as such, didn't they? Or did they all say town?
Am braindead today.

Well, unless I got turned around, there's only one third party left and that's sbrown's Anarky who I don't think has claimed. Pleo and Drain claimed third party and got lynched, guiri got knifed and mahaloth is now town. With the exception of the aforementioned sbrown and texcat's pfk role, there is only town and scum left. Are town members recruitable? I haven't seen anything one way or the other on who's recruitable.
