It seems like this has been a bad couple of weeks for pretty much everyone as far as I can tell.

Hi all!
Thanks Story for the link and thanks Sach for the fun game. It's nice to see I came close to the scum but Town still have quite a bit of work ahead of them...

Ouch, a really bad, uncharacteristically so, post by Mahaloth. No read on Cookies or Rysto??? Uh oh.
^^ Yes, thanks to Sach for fun game. I really enjoyed it. And thanks to Story for the spoiled discussion hosting.

Poor Meeko. I don't "get" him nearly as well as I get Peeker, but the same dynamic is at work with both of them, I think, in that they have a constant uphill battle; it's like they both begin each day with three votes against them. And I'm really not convinced the usual results are all their fault.

Scum are basically doing nothing and Town aren't holding them to the fire for it. I like to attack 'clean nosers' but Town generally doesn't. I understand the reason though. (1) active players are more noticable (2) 'clean noser' is a rather spurious charge. Right now the 3 unknown Townies are arguing and the 3 unknown Scum are saying little to nothing. I'll join you on the 'clean nosers', Sach. I think that town really *must* put some serious pressure on people who are playing like that around about mid-game. Otherwise if the scum are in that group (and freqently they are), you give the game away.

Story, you were right and I was wrong. I'm obviously struggling to view the game from an unspoiled perspective - I thought Maha and Skeezix had pretty much hung themselves out to dry, but of course nothing's so clear when you're in the game.
Meeko is in many ways an easy target, in that he will generally do something which makes a plausible basis for a case. Interestingly of course, it was town that led the attack on him in this instance - not scum looking for easy pickings. The question now is, will ed and Drain turn their fire on each other, or will they regroup and take a fresh look?

Rysto is an interesting character. His lie was well motivated, but kind of misses the point. A true self-protecting Doc doesn't need to announce that he is self protecting. I thought it was a strange thing to do, but even stranger is Rysto has opted to not protect anyone this Night. I thought he would at least try and protect Cookies to keep as many confirmed around as possible, but he seems to think blocking scum would reveal his deception to them and lead them to killing him. Why he thinks this is bad, I'm not sure, but that's what he said. I love how everyone looks at the game differently. I believe the reasoning was something along the lines of, "I'm so brilliant that if I can just keep myself alive until the endgame, I'll definitely be able to pick out the scum." It was a idiotic, selfish choice, made all the stupider by the fact that had I done the math, I would have realized that the scum would have to go to single lynch-or-lose before eliminating all of the confirmed. I really had a terrible game, didn't I? The only thing that I got right the whole game was countering Oredigger. I was ready to defend Oredigger before he claimed Doc.

I can't believe that the scum are getting this skittish at lylo with two Townies voting for Town. Now is not the time to start waffling.

Maybe this is just the PIS talking but this defence from Mahaloth:
just screams "damnit guys give me credit for bussing my teammate" to me.

As an observer I'm amused as hell at the way Cookies has managed to completely reverse MHaye and my own alignments.
As a townie I'm sick to my stomach over it.
I don't think I like the mechanic of modkills with no reveal, and I don't think I'll be playing in another game where there's a no-reveal mechanic of any kind.

...and now, it seems like "Will Mahaloth log on before deadline" may well determine if we have another day or a scum win.

The game hinges on whether Red comes back before the deadline to switch, or Cookies decides that maybe voting based on a crazy theory isn't the best move...

What a terrible performance by Town as this game wound down. How the hell is Mahaloth still alive? By practically every measure, his has been a Scummy performance, and the argument against Drain is - I mean - it's just - what is it, even? It just seems to be, hey, she's here, let's lynch her because none of us want to pay attention to the game anymore.
Bah. I don't really know what to make of this game anymore. Towns have completely lost the ability to find Scum.

And my one last prediction turns out to be wrong. Completely fitting.
As the game wound down? Since the mass claim, what has Town really gotten right that wasn't handed to them?
