Welcome to the game; you are the Improbably Attractive Tomboy
ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC: Investigator
WIN CONDITION: All Scum and malicious third-parties (if any) have been vanquished.
BACKGROUND:
Since high school, you have suffered from mild astigmatism, requiring you to wear glasses most of the time. You also prefer to wear your hair tied back in an efficient ponytail. In real life, this would make you very much like dozens of other girls of your age and background. In a horror movie, however, you will be treated by the other characters as almost freakishly unappealing, in spite of the fact that the actress who plays you recently appeared on the cover of People magazine.
Fortunately, like most such characters, you are plucky and almost suicidally brave; you are willing to take tremendous risks in an effort to uncover a critical clue to the mystery. Also fortunately, you have a partner in this endeavor. His name is Stanislaus, and he is an Improbably Skillful Computer Geek. Although you cannot communicate with him directly outside of the game thread, you have known him since your respective childhoods, and so may be assured that he is neither a Deadite nor a third-party actor, nor working with either of the above. He knows the same of you.
Together, you make a crack investigative team; he’ll do the research, and you’ll do the reckless violations of privacy. Should one of you die, however, the value of the other as an investigative force will become somewhat muted. Also, then you'll be robbed of the chance to engage in a third-act sex scene in which a billowing bedsheet coincidentally covers all of your naughty bits while leaving the rest of you entirely exposed.
Good luck!
POWERS:
1. You (and the Improbably Skillful Computer Geek) are Masons; you may be assured that he is Town, and he will be assured the same of you. Neither of you is vulnerable to any kind of change in alignment under any circumstances.
2. Both you and your partner are among the top-billed stars of this movie. According to the Immutable Law of Horror Movies, neither of you can be killed until at least one hapless peon takes a bullet first. Accordingly, one player who believes him/herself to be vanilla will actually be protecting you and your partner; should either you or she be targeted for a Night or Day kill, this player will die in your place. Once this player is gone, however, you are both fair game. Also, the player in question will not protect you if you are lynched. Beware!
3. Once per Night, you may investigate any action performed during the previous Day/Night cycle. This may include a kill, a protection, the theft of the Necronomicon, or any other action that you may identify. If you attempt to identify an action that did not occur (eg, you ask to determine who role-blocked CatinaSuit but Catinasuit was never role-blocked), you will be told that the action you investigated did not occur. Your investigations will turn up a series of identifying clues about the perpetrator of the act that you investigate, represented in this game by a 5-digit code number. Your partner will be researching the 5-digit code numbers associated with each player in the game. Combine your efforts, and you are a powerful investigative force.
NOTE: Should you die, your notes may be accessible to the right sort of observer.
