About the Book
POSSESSION OF THE BOOK
1. The Book begins in the common area, and all players will know about it and be permitted to take it as a Day or Night action (one player: The Cameraman). Players who take the Book by Day will be seen by all other players. Players who take the Book by Night will be seen by the Cameraman, and by any tracker types who happen to be watching.
2. Once the Book is in the posession of a given player, that player will choose every Day whether to keep it or pass it to another player.
3. The Redshirt may steal the Book from its owner by targeting its owner by Night.
4. If the Book's owner dies by any means, the Book will be buried with its owner. The Grave Robber will have one Day/Night cycle to steal the book from the grave and pass it according to his role PM; if he does not, then after one Day/Night cycle the Book will be (magically) returned to the common area.
THE BOOK'S PASSIVE POWERS
1. A player in possession of the book becomes a de facto Miller. His or her role name will always be revealed as "The Evil Necromancer" upon investigation, and any action he or she takes will be viewed as an attempted kill by any watchers. Alignment investigation (if such a thing exists in this game, and it may not) will say that the player is "Malicious PFK." The player will know about this effect from the moment he takes posession of the Book.
2. While a player is in possession of the Book, his/her previous powers and passive abilities (if any) are locked, even if (s)he does not attempt to use the Book. (S)he regains access to his/her previous role powers (if any) upon surrendering possession of the Book, whether by passing it to another player or returning it to the common area.
ACTIVE USE OF THE BOOK
1. For every Day and every Night during which (s)he is in possession of the Book, the Book's Owner may choose to: (1) return the book to the common area; (2) pass the book to a different player; or (3) use a power from the book (Day powers may only be used by Day; Night powers may only be used by Night).
