For those who want to follow the game...
... and throw popcorn at the players ;D
Looks like the first twist is going down a treat.

And we're off. This should be fun.

Well, the Redshirt's task is being made remarkably easier. I totally didn't think about Town openly discussing taking the Book. And here we were worried that the poor Redshirt would be left staring at the book on the pedestal while no Townies dared touch it. Still, I'm left to wonder what the optimal task for the Redshirt is. Part of me thinks that he should wait. It's too early to take possession of the book. Doing so right away and everyone will be obsessed with who has it. Not good for the Redshirt -- stealing it later might be his best plan.

The Scum may kill him early, which will be a problem for him.

I must say I'm really liking the whole Necronomicon mechanic.

I must say I'm really liking the whole Necronomicon mechanic. I just hope it works as well in game as it sounds on paper.

I've just read the Day 1 colour. Thank you storyteller, thank you. I've been waiting to use that gag for like, four games. I don't think anyone got it except for you, but it was worth it :-) Scumboard is here: deaditechat.proboards.comPassword: smarty I moved it at the request of special ed, who was concerned that someone could look at activity on this board and make unfortunate guesses about who has access to secret boards.

And... Romanic's gone and gotten himself into PIS hot water very early in the Day. Looks like your role might come into play earlier than we'd imagined, sach.

I think Rominac can see it coming a mile off.
storyteller, It reminds of your scum slip statement about the precise number of lynches that the town had to take out the scum.
Oh well, wait for the last 24 hours to be a cluster bomb of confusion as someone walks off into the sunset.

Slip aside, Romanic seems like an experienced player. He's not panicking, and his defense is well-reasoned. Of course he has no idea about the culture we have here so I don't think he knows he's a dead duck quite yet. Bottom line is on a Day with scant data, Romanic's lynch is basically unavoidable.
The only remaining questions are: Does Romanic realize that exiting the game is his best option? I think he does.
And when should he perform his exit? I think soon. The vote pile-on has already happened. The vote record is set and unlikely to reveal any additional information.
It's a pretty good time to use it too as the vote record looks tasty.

Actually, now I think it will end up being a waste. The vote record isn't going to reveal much of anything. EVERYONE is suspicious of Romanic. Discerning scum from Town on that vote list will be nearly impossible. He should still exit the game, but Day One will still be without direction.

Which is why he should exit as soon as possible, actually. He's going down toDay but he has a chance to make Day One be something other than a total waste if he's gone by the end of Tuesday and they still have 3+ days to look for alternate approaches. If he waits until Friday, it's going to hurt in multiple ways.

Also, I think this game could go to 1000 posts by the end of Day One, if Romanic makes a grand exit sometime today.
