So my plan for Tonight as of now is to move my device from Hal and to place devices on Gad and Total. I've purposefully voiced my opinions on Peeker and Gad strongly as part of this plan. It will be interesting to see what the reactions are to the reveal of not only two kerosene smellers on the same Night, but also who those smellers are collectively (with Hal being the outlier).

I'm hoping to tempt the scummies to continue (or start, if I'm wrong about Hal+Nanook+Mahaloth) to spin the kerosene smell in a negative light, and potentially see if anyone tries to build a case against me or not as the deliverer of the kerosene, based on my snuggles of Peeker/Gad compared to Nanook/Mahaloth.

I'm assuming that removing my device from a living player does not result in that player receiving any notifications akin to what they received when the device was originally planted?

No - "Night Zero" is really more of a colloquial term than an actual game one; the game proper starts with Day One.

So aside from some early and believable townie claims, I think I'm going to use my first couple of devices on players that I'm not familiar with just to see what they do with the smell of kerosene in the morning. I can always move them later and it will help me get more of a feel for them as players and whatever roles they have this time around.

Day 3 notes

Hal's proposal that my device smell is a clue to a Scum visit was innocuous enough, but combined with Mahaloth's level of assurance that Hal is on the right track has me decidedly dubious about both of their alignments, and Nanook by extension as well.

Methinks I'll be moving Hal's device elsewhere toNight.

Now if someone else could just chime in first that jumping to conclusions as they are is not necessarily the best idea...

I don't know how long it is going to take Total Lost to show up and decide whether or not to divulge that she smelled kerosene last Night, but every moment that passes is another where I wonder if I should just claim (minus the part about being able to move 2 of my devices) and forestall her from exposing that little tidbit of information, but with my luck she'd post about the kerosene first and then realize I was trying to keep her quiet about it later.

:headsmack: Nevermind about omitting the device move capability. That would only work if I'd not placed a device some night. I could still potentially wifom the scum about an undisclosed kerosene smeller, but Total would be an obvious choice, and an obvious choice who hasn't posted anything yet toDay, so we're back to seeing how people react to two smellers on the same night.

If Pollux waits another Night, and I don't get myself lynched toDay, I'll throw a little accelerant his way.

I'm tempted to feel encouraged that none of my devices have vanished yet, outside of my own choosing to burn one of my do-overs. There's a lot of dead bodies flying around. My scum-hunting, however, is still unproven.

I'm also starting to get anxious of recognizing the best time to blow myself up. They've gotta be going after Total soon if they have not already, I'd consider derailing that a good death and personal victory should it come to pass. ;D

I'm having fun being a bit self-referential in some of my banter, with a few little white lies thrown in now and again.

How much for a glimpse into the crystal ball to know a) whether or not Total is going to post today (the fact that she thumb'd up a post of mine on Facebook yesterday is driving me even crazier) and/or b) if Total is going to post, will she actually catch up on the thread first, or just hurriedly post that she has to catch up and vote and "Oh, by the way, I smelled kerosene last night too."

Night 4 device targets: SBrown and Meeko

So this is really not where I wanted to end up with this power, but it is what it is. Someday I might learn to get better at distinguishing half-assed Townie play from scummy play, but probably not. No offense, Sister C, subbing is hard and by now you know that my frustrations with Town play have been valid.

I have come full circle and back again on Pullox, I'm afraid. Some of his more recent play seems pandering, but I snuggled him first so...who knows.

Regardless, he's still on his own with his plans for his device, and I can't protect anyone from something happening during the Day anyway.

Texcat's device I will move to SBrown and I will place another on Meeko. I don't necessarily trust him not to announce it, but I'm going to try to at least cash in on the silver lining of his non-voting, time-traveling, mason-voting analytical cloud by making the assumption that he's acting like a Townie Meeko in the weeds.

New orders, please. This is when potentially stupid Townies suck, and I just can't tell if Sbrown is being one and too anti-town to justify protection for or if her scum is starting to show.

Remove from Texcat.

Plant on Pollux and LightFoot and I really hope this is not a mistake.

Hell. I'm half tempted to place them on both Sbrown and Pollux. And I still have to decide if I'm going to blow myself up or not. I think I'm going to wait. I don't think the scum will kill me in order to keep my claim and any fallout as unconfirmed. I am not planning on sacrificing myself toNight at this time.

But yeah, let's remove from Texcat and plant on Sbrown and Pullox ToNight. *wince* Playing the metagame card on Meeko feels like a cop-out.
