ROLE NAME: Ash Williams
ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC ROLE DESCRIPTION: Many Powers
BACKGROUND
For the uninitiated, Ashley "Ash" Williams was a mild-mannered college student, and loyal employee in the Housewares Department of his local S-Mart. But then the Deadites killed and possesed his sister. And his girlfriend. And his best friend. And the drunken skank his best friend picked up in a bar three days ago. Then they possesed Ash's own left hand, forcing him to cut it off with a chainsaw.
Enough to give anyone a bad attitude. So Ash... changed. He attached the chainsaw permanently to the rotting stump where his Evil Hand used to reside, took up a top-of-the-line S-mart Remington 12-gauge shotgun, and set out to kick some Demon ass.
Good... bad... he's the guy with the gun. Not all men from his hometown are such loudmouth braggarts; only Ash, baby. Only Ash.
POWERS
At the beginning of the game, Ash is pure vanilla. No powers, no special information, just a vague hint that under the right circumstances, he can be more. Subsequent powers are tied to certain events:
EVENT 1: A Night kill is attempted on Ash (for the first time) by a Deadite.
RESULTS: Ash survives, but loses his hand. He replaces hand with a chainsaw. Two practical implications:
1. Ash gains the power to kill Undead deadites once per Night by chainsawing them into oblivion. The chainsaw also gives him permanent immunity from being killed by the Predator (but not by Freddy or the Deadites). Once Ash becomes pissed enough to kill (see below), the chainsaw can be used preferentially to the shotgun to make Night kills, but this will have no practical implications except one - Freddy cannot be killed with a shotgun. He can be killed with a chainsaw. Predator can not be killed with a chainsaw; he can be killed with a shotgun.
2. The Hand becomes an Evil Hand, and reports back promptly to the Deadite Collective with Ash’s identity. Thereafter, for as long as Ash is alive, the hand can be used to carry out kills on behalf of the scum (thus foiling any watcher/tracker roles - this is not an extra kill, but allows the scum to kill without exposing any of their members) at Night, or to follow a player and see what he/she does (ie, a tracker). When Ash dies, or the Necronomicon is destroyed, the Evil Hand is destroyed forever.
EVENT 2: The Hero’s One True Love is killed by a Deadite.
RESULTS: Ash becomes royally pissed. He finds a shotgun among his One True Love’s possessions, and sets out to earn revenge. One practical implication:
1. Ash gains the ability to shoot one player per Night with his shotgun. This kills them, unless they are Freddy. Ash is really angry; he is required to kill or saw every night unless something changes.
More to come.
