ROLE NAMES: Freddy Krueger
ALIGNMENT: Third-Party
GENERIC ROLE DESCRIPTION: Serial Killer
BACKGROUND
Yeah, he's Freddy Krueger. Claws for hands. Fried face. The power to invade your dreams. He's trapped in the wrong movie, but if there are college-age kids around to kill, he's happy; he just needs to off the damn Deadites who are taking down his pray.
POWERS
Dunno. He could just be a straight up serial killer, but for a guy with claws on his hands and a fried face and the power to invade your dreams, that's just not good enough. Roosh, if you're reading this, we need something brilliant. Got anything saved up from Batman?
QUESTIONS
Help me come up with some interesting powers / win conditions here. I want this role to be really awesome.

Freddy's one of my fav. And yeah, I've got tricks.
I think Freddy should be the man with the abilities at his disposal. ie: Give him 3-4 one shots along with his ability (like Batman) and let him have fun. Better yet- let him be able to use multiple ones at the same time (like maybe a limit of 2 or something). But here are some thins I'd think of him having: (new post)

1. Nightmares (Remember Scarecrow? Freddy's the same thing). -Target feels threatened and gets the full PM that they survived a NK. It can role block the player too if we want to give him that added oomph.
****-We can give him unlimited one shots of these. And have them maybe as a PRE- requisite to execute some of the better powers. Ie: in order to use a more lethal Night power, he might have to use it on someone he's already given NightMares, etc.
2. Paranoia. -He gets to send X player a Message and have it addressed from anyone he wants. (This one's a mite bit too powerful. Ie; he could send someone a message that Y is the Godfather, and that'd cause problems and such). But basically he can send a message to whoever he wants of maybe a certain amt. of words. It's weak. I got better stuff
3. The Day Kill. - Give someone enough Nightmares, and they'll break down. 3-4 Nights of troubled sleep, and they end up dying during the Day from sleep exhaustion. (A choice for him, if he doesn't want to spread around his nightmares).
4. The Sleep Walker - Command X to Kill Y for him. -this is the ultimate power for Freddy. He can pick one player, and have that player kill another player. Regardless of alignments and such things. The Sleepwalker would wake up in the morning and realize what they've done, but have NO idea WHY they just killed another player, only that they're the culprit. -Fun way to fuck around with investigation results, or watchers or such. -If you have it, have certain roles immune. Ie: Ash, Jason, Deadites or another High powered Roles to being the killer maybe.

You could always change around Freddy as well into NOT giving him the NK ability. But force him to play a Game of points with his victims in order to kill them.
In other words: Freddy maybe gets 10 points of actions to do (Nightmares and all that cost points, from varied amts. maybe 3-6-9-etc. And the points can roll over? But that gets tricky then).
And every player starts out at 0 points. Basically at night, Freddy fills them up with points. -He spends 3 points on Player X -4 points on Player Y -and 2 on player Z etc...
-And we basically have the points have "triggers" on a player. So when a player gets 3 points, they start to have nightmares. -When they get to 6-7, perhaps they get the "NightMare" effect from freddy. -9 Points and they get "attacked" but survive the night but they know they're in trouble.... -When they reach 10 points, Freddy then ACTUALLY NKs them.
Basically the mechanism would be to play the role two to three ways: 1. They can play it as a basic SK, ie: Devote the full 10 points and just kill a player every night. 2. They can play the game long term- split up the points evenly to all players, trying to avoid the "triggers' that may exist at level 3 or 6 or 9 (So as to get as many people to high levels without them knowing about the existance of an SK) before unleashing perhaps 4-5 NKs in a single night (if X,Y,Z all are at level 8 or something, freddy could use all the points and kill all 3). That's HORRENDOUSLY imbalanced though, and needs work. 3. Or the best way- is simple to spread it around. Perhaps bring 2 players up slowly with 5 points each night, and then just take them out getting 2 NKs the next night, so as to use some element of surprise? --It's messy and complicated, and to pull that off, it'd be tough, as its easy to misuse (See play style 2. It's gonna be screwy if you have 3-4 people who all die in one night because of one player). If you include it, perhaps there should be some method to balance the "points" or that the points wear off or something to prevent him from simply mass farming and giving everyone a slow trickle of points, so as to maximize his kills. We want to avoid that, and we want to have him killing as much as possible.
~~That's why I like this ability, if Freddy KNEW he had a competetior (the Sk vs. SK thing I proposed). It's there solely to prevent Freddy then from being SLOW about his kills, because there would be another killer out there racking up kills each night as well. So freddy would have to figure out a better strategy to rise up in kill #s.

Another way to add to the "Paranoia" ability:
make it so that instead of a message, perhaps it forces the player to cast a Vote for a specific player (of freddy's choosing) the next day at the start of the Day. But then its quite obvious that the vote is a fake one. But still. It's risk goes up if multiple people start to do it. -Players wouldn't have to keep the vote on, but they'd have to vote and then maybe keep there vote there for X # of posts before Unvoting.

Power #5: 5. Dream State Just give a Player a Post Restriction of some sort. The player will be "dreaming" and think they're some role or actor or something, and they must keep up the post restriction through out the Day, with a 1 strike and you're Killed policy (A way for freddy to get kills w/o using a NK).

Oh, I like almost all of this. I think we should keep a lot of it, and combine it with sach's idea of having various players immune to their kills. I love the idea of this complicated, wacky one on one battle going on behind the scenes.
But I'm not sure I want the second killer to be Jason Voorhees. That's a little too obvious for me; I want to blend mythologies, not use pre-blended ones. Plus, Jason's just basically a dude with a knife in a mask, and I'm sorry, but that movie got it totally wrong: Freddy would have kicked Jason's ass all over the map, and had time to be home for crumpets.
Any other ideas?

Hmm... too obvious eh? If you wanna just be really random, put in a few Marvel Zombies. You can have their abilities be nearly anything and find a superhero that could have said ability. That'll really confuse them if someone just shows up and Claims Captain America of all things.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Zombies_vs._The_Army_of_Darkness

:face palms: Awesome.
But man, THIS is what I bring to the table when I get to help Story design an EVIL DEAD mafia game?
Predator? -The players are going to be shitting themselves when they realize what the hell they've gotten into.
