Welcome to the game; you are the Religious Figure Having a Crisis of Faith
ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC: Investigator
WIN CONDITION: All Deadites have been vanquished, and there is no chance of an exclusive win for any third-party.
BACKGROUND:
Unlike your peers, you have never been much interest in such worldly pursuits as “partying,” “fornicating,” or “fun.” Your denominationally nonspecific faith was all you had, and all you needed. You entered the seminary, and while they studied calculus, booze, and boobs, you studied sacrifice and hard work.
But then, a dark, tragic event – most likely involving the senseless death of someone played by Kirstin Dunst – caused the faith you had in your denominationally-nonspecific deity to slip. Now you find yourself wondering whether you have wasted your life looking for order in a random universe.
So when you heard about the Xeta Xeta Xeta party being held at an abandoned cabin the woods, you made up your mind to attend – to see how the other half lived, as the saying goes. But then came this evening, and that strange creature that could only have been a demon from the bowels of Hell (or your punch was spiked. You have heard that the punch is often spiked). You have become convinced that you were brought here as a test of the depths of your faith.
The bad news is, Religious Figures Having a Crisis of Faith inevitably have to die, probably with great fanfare, to achieve their ultimate redemptions. The good news is, your death scene will surely be well-written and moving.
POWERS:
1. The power of a denominationally-nonspecific higher being flows through you. Once per Night, you may lay your hands upon another player, and allow this power to flow into them. If they are not a Deadite from the bowels of Hell, nothing at all will happen.
If they are a Deadite of any variety, they will be permanently and divinely marked with a heavenly sign upon their brow, visible to all. Unfortunately, in leaving the sign, you will be consumed by the heavenly flames that etch this sign, and die. No Deadite is immune to this ability. We offer no assurances that all the enemies of the Town are, in fact, Deadites.
2. As a Religious Figure, you have the ability to convince certain types of sinners to return to the straight and narrow path. Only time will tell whether and how you might be able to use this ability.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADMINISTRATIVE NOTES:
Should the Religious Figure Having a Crisis of Faith ever be targeted by the Virginal Beauty AFTER the latter has lost her protective powers (ie, after she has become the Fallen Virginal Beauty), he will be able to restore her original protective ability (but not her one-time resistance to Night kills). The same will apply if she targets him.
