Welcome to the game; you are the Complete A-Hole
ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC: Martyr
WIN CONDITION: All Deadites have been vanquished, and there is no chance of an exclusive win for any third-party.
BACKGROUND:
Yeah, you’re that guy. Arrogant, cocky, and not half as funny as you think, you’re probably played by Matthew Lillard and your go-to facial expression is a dismissive sneer. While your peers were learning about the Bay of Pigs in Eleventh Grade History, you were getting your Master’s Degree in Wedgie Administration. A party isn’t a party unless you’re there near closing time, stinking of beer and failure, trying to score with the last eligible female left at the party but failing because she turns out to be the end table.
You’re a Complete A-Hole in a horror movie. Your life expectancy can be measured in fly crap. Whether the villain is a toxic waste monster, a masked madman, or a robot pumpkin from outer space, it is assured that you will, sooner or later, find yourself on the business end of a dripping claw, butcher knife, or ass-generated laser beam. You can't survive; you were put in this movie to die.
The only question now is, how will you die? Peacefully, in your sleep, like your grandpa? Kicking, screaming, and wetting yourself, like the passengers in grandpa’s car? Or will you pull together a tiny bit of dignity and become the Complete A-Hole Who Earns a Measure of Redemption by Dying for His Friends, Thus Earning a Slow Motion Montage to the Soothing Strains of Enya?
Let’s find out, shall we?
POWERS:
1. Once per Night, you will select one other player to protect. If your target is targeted by any party (or parties) for a Night kill, you will die instead.
2. We know what you’re thinking: What the fuck? Really? That’s it? That’s my whole power? Dying? That sucks. OK, stop being such a complete A-hole; there’s a bit more. If you die because somebody gets sick of you and stabs you in the eye, or because the rest of the partygoers decide to set you on fire, then you’ll be dead without dignity, you’ll win or lose with the rest of the Town, and you’ll be given an express ticket to the spoiler forum. However: if you die protecting another, you will be revived as a Benevolent Spirit With Wisdom to Impart, and will be given a chance to lend additional help to your friends from beyond the grave.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADMINISTRATIVE NOTES:
1. The Benevolent Spirit will rise on the morning of the Day after he is killed (if he dies on Night One, he’ll rise at Dawn on Day Two, immediately after the announcement of his death). He is not lynchable, can’t vote, and doesn’t contribute toward the Town head count. He cannot be killed at Night.
At Dusk of the Day he is restored, he is given a choice. Use a one-time power, guaranteed to be strongly pro-Town, and disappear forever, or continue playing indefinitely, but lose the chance to use the one-time power forever. If the player posts anything further in the game thread after acknowledging this choice, they will forego the one-time action and remain in the game until banished by other means.
The pro-Town power, by the way, is the blessing of a Night Without Kills, and the restoration of the Virginal Beauty’s purity (and protective powers, but not her one-shot resistance to Night kills).
