Welcome to the game; you are Vincent, the Dog Who Knows Things
ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC: Detective
WIN CONDITION: All Deadites have been vanquished, and there is no chance of an exclusive win for any third-party.
BACKGROUND:
In real life, dogs are pleasant companions, frequently entertaining, and usually very affectionate. They can learn a number of impressive tricks, if carefully and properly trained.
In horror movies, however, dogs are psychic detectives, able to ferret out ill motives and mistruths long before their profoundly stupid owners.
You are such a dog. So well honed are your instincts that you can determine whether a given statement made by an individual is the truth or not. Furthermore, your powers of nonverbal communication are so well-developed that the humans who interact with you are convinced that you are speaking to them in plain English. You’re pretty sure they don’t even realize that you’re a dog.
So you’re not exactly among a pack of rocket scientists here, but if the Deadites slaughter the humans, there will be no biscuit, and you wish to eat a biscuit. So you’ll do your thing, growling ominously and hoping this is the kind of movie where the dog outruns the gas main explosion at the last second, and not the kind of movie where the dog takes a bullet for his master.
POWERS:
1. Once per Day, you may choose any sentence spoken by any player and submit it to the moderators. This may be a sentence of any length, and needn’t be a grammatically correct sentence. It must, however, be a sentence with an absolute truth value. You’re a dog; you’re not so good with shadings. If you choose a statement with a truth value, you will receive a response at dusk: TRUE or FALSE. If you choose a statement without such value (eg, “I don’t trust storyteller”), you will receive an ambiguous reading. (“WOOF?”)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADMINISTRATIVE NOTES:
1. If Vincent targets a sentence spoken by Ash, he will recognize Ash as Ash, and as Pro-Town.
