The Rules[/u]
1. The Day/Night Cycle
Day One will last for exactly five days (120 hours); Night One will last for exactly two days (48 hours).
Thereafter, each game Day will last for exactly 72 hours, and each game Night will last for exactly 48 hours. The Day/Night Cycle thus lasts five real-life days; absolutely no force whatsoever will either shorten or lengthen this cycle, nor the relative lengths of Day vs. Night. Short, we know, but pay attention to what’s below before you panic.
2. Posting
There are no post restrictions. None. As long as you are alive (and in some cases even after that!), you may post whatever you like, wherever you like, whenever you like. You may quote your role PM, and any PM sent to you by the moderators. You may discuss strategy by Day or by Night. If you have access to outside boards, you may post to them on any subject by Day or by Night. If someone claims a post restriction of any kind, they are lying; lynch them.
You may not edit your posts.
3. Off-Board Communication
Is permitted via officially sanctioned methods only. For the record, no game-related private messaging among active players is permitted.
4. Voting
You may vote to lynch another player by using the now familiar vote storyteller construction. You may do this at any time, Day or Night. Whoever has the most votes at the time a game Day ends will be lynched; there is a method of resolution for all ties, but it will not be shared at this time.
The following is unusual, and important: once you vote for someone, you vote stays active forever until one of three things happens:
(1) you remove it, using the unvote storyteller construction;
(2) you die; or
(3) the person for whom you are voting dies.
The vote count is not automatically cleared at the end of each lynch; if Roosh has six votes and storyteller has five votes at the end of Day One, then Roosh will die, and storyteller will begin Night One with five votes.
5. Participation
There will be no hard and fast rules regarding participation, except this one: please participate. The moderators will determine the adequacy of each player’s participation in a context-sensitive fashion, and will issue warnings, prompts, and removals as necessary. All discussion about a player’s participation level will take place in private; the moderators will not discuss participation, prods, or potential modkills in the game thread under any circumstances.
Broadly speaking, all moderator action, notably modkill, is subject to the discretion of the moderators. NOTE: There will be no voting requirement whatsoever. As long as you’re posting, you don’t have to vote at all, ever, as far as the moderators are concerned.
6. Power Role Actions
Power Role actions may be submitted at any time at all, even in advance, but must be clearly labeled with the Day/Night for which they are intended. If you are a Doctor, for example, you may send a PM on Day One saying “Self-protect Night One, Night Two, and Night Three, then protect Roosh Night Four.” These orders will remain in force unless you change them. I’ll emphasize this for clarity: because of this rule, any actions submitted without a specific Day/Night designation will not be executed.
Day actions always resolve at Dusk; Night actions always resolve at Dawn. The deadline for submitting an action for a particular Night or Day will be fifteen minutes in advance of the Day/Night’s end (so any actions for Day One must be submitted at least 15 minutes prior to the time of Dusk for that Day).
