The Rules[/u]
1. The Day/Night Cycle
Please note: what follows is critically important and quite different from our typical games. Each Day, beginning with the first, will end when the vote threshold for that Day is reached. The threshold will be determined by in-game means and announced publically at the beginning of each Day. When the threshold is reached, the Day ends instantly and the vote leader is lynched (absent intervention by any powers that may or may not exist).
Please note: there is no time limit (or minimum time) associated with the Day. There is no "deadline." A given Day may last a real-life hour or a real-life month, depending on how quickly a given candidate reaches the threshold vote level.
2. Posting
There are no post restrictions. None. As long as you are alive (and in some cases even after that!), you may post whatever you like, wherever you like, whenever you like. You may quote your role PM, and any PM sent to you by the moderators. You may discuss strategy by Day or by Night. If you have access to outside boards, you may post to them on any subject by Day or by Night. If someone claims a post restriction of any kind, they are lying; lynch them.
You may not edit your posts.
3. Off-Board Communication
Is permitted via officially sanctioned methods only. For the record, no direct game-related private messaging among active players is permitted.
4. Voting
You may vote to lynch another player by using the now familiar vote storyteller construction, and unvote using the unvote storyteller construction.
The vote count is automatically cleared at the end of each lynch, and at the end of each Night. You can certainly choose to vote at Night, but these votes won't accomplish anything and will be cleared at Dawn.
5. Participation
There will be no hard and fast rules regarding participation, except this one: please participate. The moderators will determine the adequacy of each player’s participation in a context-sensitive fashion, and will issue warnings, prompts, and removals as necessary. All discussion about a player’s participation level will take place in private; the moderators will not discuss participation, prods, or potential modkills in the game thread under any circumstances.
Broadly speaking, all moderator action, notably modkill, is subject to the discretion of the moderators. NOTE: There will be no voting requirement whatsoever. As long as you’re posting, you don’t have to vote at all, ever, as far as the moderators are concerned. Your fellow players may have differing opinions.
6. Power Role Actions
Power Role actions may be submitted at any time at all, even in advance, but must be clearly labeled with the Day/Night for which they are intended. If you are a Doctor, for example, you may send a PM on Day One saying “Self-protect Night One, Night Two, and Night Three, then protect Roosh Night Four.” These orders will remain in force unless you change them.
Day actions always resolve at Dusk; Night actions always resolve at Dawn. The deadline for submitting an action for a particular Night or Day will be the time that the Night ends (for Night actions) or prior to the hammer vote (for Day actions).
7. Death Reveals
The following information will be revealed about all players immediately following death by any means:
- Role Name
- Alignment
- Power Type (will be categorized as one of the following: Investigative, Protective, Aggressive [includes killing and role-blocking among others], or Special)
No additional information about powers will be revealed.
