I'm re-thinking my role claim in the light of what Guiri and Cookies have said -- *if* those are the truth, then unless Red shows up with something good, our clan lacks strong offensive night powers. Claiming Bus Driver only to them would be quite an enticement -- however it does still present the problem of using it. Hrmmm. Probably not a good idea.

Of course if Red *is* HoC, then he's probably only waiting for me to claim something not on the list in order that he can turn up and choose his best fit power to entice the rest of us.

With this Lie Detector reveal, I think we need to: (1) Keep Ed alive; and (2) Bring Ed into our confidence as quickly as possible, and see if he can't use his influence to keep the Lie Detector off my back.

Although, hell, if the Lie Detector power is a Night power, it won't matter, will it? Since you can keep that away from me same as any investigative power. Maybe I'll ask Ed. What do you think?

I have some more on Ed from my primary clan; back in a sec with it. In the meantime, I have a nervous feeling about peeker/zuma -- they offered to bring me into a clan with them, but peeker has consistently failed to give me enough information to accomplish it, despite me asking several times. What the heck is up with that? It's enough to make me feel they're setting me up for a day kill. I asked if peeker was a day redirector at one point based on something Skeez said; if he is, maybe that spooked him?

I don't know what the heck is going on.

Why would they want to kill you? I think it's more likely that peeker + zuma is just not necessarily the most well-organized or consistent pair of players we've ever seen :-) I'm not sure an elaborate set-up is likely, but I'll do some detective work if I ever get approved for my clan with peeker (which he hasn't done yet).

btw - I have two clans right now:

The Sitting Ducks (Mahaloth, peeker, Ed, and myself)
Clan of the Big Idiot (Ed, sinjin, and myself)*

* Both sinjin and Ed claim that this clan is their primary - if the Clan of the Big Idiot shows up with fewer than two primaries, we might have a HoC problem.

Meanwhile, I am going to push Ed for more on his lie detector friend. This could be a big problem for both of us, if the lie detection is a Day power.

OK, yeah, guiri and Skeez both say that Ed told them that he himself is the Lie Detector. I'm dubious, in many ways. I am not at all sure that Ed is not House of Chains himself. Think about it:

-- first power claim is a near-duplicate of Moley's, but would presumably need to be used
-- second power claim is something a confident player with inside knowledge of how the House of Chains might act could probably simulate (think what I could do to Skeez right now, for instance), GIVEN THE EXCUSE OF HAVING THE SAME STATEMENT FROM EVERYBODY TO "CHECK". I'd trust this power much more if it were to be used on natural statements and not something that Ed himself set up for his own convenience. I'm very paranoid about him right now.

Also, false-claiming lie detector would mean he'd probably never have to use his first power claim, and would mean he could cloak every night ad infinitim.

Re: Skeez, neither do I. Even the timing of his power reveal to the rest of us was perfect for HoC. He claimed third of the four of us, and the claims of the first two were incompatible with HoC. And I, who had not yet claimed, had stated I'd made the Misfits my primary clan, something HoC can't do.

I'm fairly certain he's HoC; there's just the question of what to do about it and when.

OK, we have to work this out. One potential, powerful option is the simplest. I or you could directly out skeezix in the thread. I'd be willing to do it. "Hi, everyone. I have information, but cannot reveal the source. Redskeezix is in the HoC. Vote Skeezix." Cue craziness.

I have no idea what to make of Ed. If he is claiming multiple roles, he becomes a very unreliable ally. Have guiri and skeez both reported the same thing about Ed?

To clarify, Ed's not claiming multiple roles; he's claiming a single role with multiple powers. First, the daytime version of Moley's claim; second, the lie detector. Guiri and Skeez are both reporting the same things about Ed, presumably from being in separate clans with him.

Ed's in both of my Clans, but hasn't approved me for either off-board message board, so there's been very little discussion so far.

Ed's claim is bullshit. There's no way he's a normal ascendant with multiple, unfalsifiable powers. He'd have a HUGE advantage as a Lie Detector - to add another power on top of that would be just incredibly powerful.

I could kill skeez toNight. But I am VERY leery of leaving you unprotected; if you die, I'm up a tree and so (obviously) are you. However, I may have another angle. Give me some time.

Breaking news: peeker has claimed Day redirector. He intends to redirect Pleonast in order to test Pleonast's claim. I think we should get Peeker on board our little train. I think he'd be a useful ally, and I think he'd be willing to be part of this insane lplan we have going. Are you interested? If you are, I'll start floating some hints, and maybe I'll give peeker skeezix.
