Well, not exactly. Most of the enemies are Scum, not PFK, and TexCat killing Scum was very strong evidence that she wasn't Scum herself. Her not being Scum certainly wasn't proof that she was Town, but it did make it significantly more likely.
And her performance as a Vig isn't as simple as saying "she killed six Town but only one Scum". For the first few Nights, at least, she killed people who would have been likely to be lynched, thereby saving Town the trouble, and letting Town move on to other targets. That can be good play by a Vig.
That said, though, Town should have killed her as soon as we had an unexplained Night death, and Dirx should have killed her as soon as she claimed.

Her not being Scum certainly wasn't proof that she was Town, but it did make it significantly more likely. Any extra kill would have pointed to texcat not being scum, simply because the scum team is extremely unlikely to have a player with an unrestricted Night-kill outside their team one. A player who claims an unrestricted, at-will Night-kill is probably telling the truth (because it will be quickly obvious when they don't kill as promised) and thus is probably not scum. If the game has only town and scum, that's a pretty good confirmation of being town. In a game with third parties, it confirms nothing except the player's Night-kill power. And, as I think you pointed out, for some reason players in this game have been overly concerned about 3rd-parties, but bizarrely unconcerned about pfks. They should have lynched texcat on Day One, because of the late claim of a killing power. And nothing changed after that: a player with an unrestricted kill with no evidence of town alignment needs to be lynched pronto. For example, let's say instead of lynch scum pizzaguy on Day Three, the town instead lynched pfk texcat. For the cost of one living scum, town would have saved the lives of four townies. That's about an even trade. But, on Day Seven, instead of facing two deaths each Night, town would face only one. Instead of being on the verge of losing, town would be in a good position. This is why I give a lot of credit to texcat for excellent play this game.

I agree with Pleonast. Texcat should have been a lynch target, but I also see why she wasn't. I bet you a dollar that had someone gone after Texcat that someone would get lynched instead.
What should have happened was the real Town Vig killing TexCat. That is much cleaner as it doesn't require hours and hours of discussion. Sometimes a unilateral decision is Town's best ally. (Sometimes unilateral decisions are bad too, I'm looking at peekercpa if you couldn't guess). But when it comes to death, Town Vig is a very powerful tool. My new pet theory is that Town Vig should kill players who the Town are unwilling to lynch despite there being no reason for the unwillingness (i.e., not confirmed-Town by any stretch of the imagination).
Town had two players capable of killing TexCat without needing consent. TexCat really played an amazing game. From near lynch on Day One to Final-whatever. Really, really good!

That's why I was arguing for sinjin to target texcat. Dirx, Sister Coyote, and sinjin all made huge mistakes in their respective vig targets. Dirx should have targeted texcat Night One and not astral, Sister should have targeted her instead of Chronos, and sinjin should have targeted her instead of me. I can maybe see why Dirx/Sis would play it safe, but sinjin should have targeted texcat as soon as Sis was lynched and came up town.

I'm just trying to care more than a shit for the long term play. That is, town in general, needs to improve from game to game. I don't know if that's possible. How can I work on moving up my play a few steps, if town always pushes back 50 steps?

The endgame looks like it's going to be disappointing. Three votes on BillMc, none of them from an actual Townie. If texcat kills Gadarene toNight - a possibility - we get the weakest possible Town victory. One where the Town lynched only two Scum, and was literally dragged into one of the two successful lynches by a third party, a PFK, and another Scum!

Well, it at least looks like they're coming to their senses enough to lynch TexCat (on the urging of a Scum). So it at least won't be quite that bad.
Let's see if my hypothesis about TexCat noticing the acrostics is correct. If she does pull that, then I'm officially rooting for her, regardless of my team. Serial Killer is a tough role to play, and she's been doing pretty darned well at it (especially since she lost a major advantage she was supposed to have to dumb luck).

It's not about their targets being Town, it's the fact that Dirx and Sis knew they were a town vig and should have questioned tex's claim from the beginning. Sinjin had even more information than that: she was a town one-shot AND a compulsory vig had already died. Texcat should have been under suspicion from the real town vigs much earlier.
