read the spoilers. I'm not really The Batman That's what the role list says you are? But even if you're not, I'm hurt that Batman didn't send a message. OK, I'm Batman, but your message went to Bruce Wayne.

Plus, my edit was not to gain attention. I had no desire for attention. it was exactly like I said, I was drunk and posting beastie boys lyrics.

So what gambit is peeker going for here?
There's nothing in his PM that says he can only send his message to Town. He's confirming scum for seemingly no benefit.
I mean, I believe that a lie done for the right reasons is fine. I think lynch-all-liars is a short-sighted way to play the game.
But why confirm what you can't? Are you trying to trap someone? No scum is going to fall for the gambit. They'll be more than happy to pretend they're confirmed. And even if you say "ha, ha, I didn't really confirm you" what's that prove. If townie, they don't know whether or not you can confirm them, so by saying you can they're going to believe you. If scum, they're not even going to blink when you say you lied, because they already know it.

If Gad flips, peeker is doomed. Especially after Ragnarok.

So, peeker is confirming Gad, and trusting texcat. He might singlehandedly win this one for Scum.....

Why does peeker think that his power only works on Town? Scum should kill peeker before he has the chance to fix his mistake, but either way, peeker doesn't seem like the type to double check his role PM.
Maybe Town will get lucky and someone will press peeker to quote his role PM, then they will be able to put Gadarene in the unknown column. I think it will be very funny and tragic if scum ends up winning because peeker SKIMMED his own damn role PM. Actually it will suck hard. That will be a month or two down the drain over a Day One mistake. Are there any more 3rd Parties that would like to kill a "confirmed Town?" I can only recall the SK and a Town killer, neither of whom are in a position to kill a "confirmed town."

Sach, peeker's not confused or skimming - he's lying on purpose. He's trying to gauge Gadarene's reaction to try to tell if Gad is Town or Scum (he sent me a PM to that effect). I think he plans to tell the truth before the end of the Night... at least, I hope so.

It's an interesting tactic from peeker to try and use his confirmation in that way. It doesn't give out any extra info to the scum, as it has all come out in game. But if he pulls it off, it's worth a trick.
Unfortunately, Gaderene is a good player, so he should be able to not give anything away.

I mean, what else could explain it? But Meeko corrected him in-thread.

Oh Idle ...
I would never have expected that from him. I thought he liked playing scum.

Yeah, this is getting frustrating. I mean, we did what we could to balance the setup, but the setup absolutely can't survive active sabotage by a Scum team member. I've written to Idle to ask him if he wants a sub - I'm not sure why he wouldn't, if he doesn't want to play, and Sister Coyote is available. Hal Briston is going to protect Chronos, though, so if Idle tries using his power on Chronos it won't work and Idle will not be revealed after all.
