URGENT REQUEST FOR ADVICE: Pleonast has asked to submit a contingent power request - specifically, that he will target Ed if he (Pleonast) is the lynch leader and whichever non-Pleonast player has the most votes if he is not. Should I allow this? It feels wrong, but I can't think of a reason not to. My only problem is you put yourself into a bind if 2nd place has a tie or something. Probably not a problem though. Generally, I'm pro. It falls under the "This isn't a real-time game" point of view.

Re: The secret of the poster.
How did Pollux Oil figure it out?
And now I got to go back through all the posts to see if there are any tells, other than the weird capitalizations in the board name, which make sense in retrospect. But that alone wouldn't have been enough since other people have done that.

Was!? WAS!!! Getting to the end of that diary the poster wouldn't have even had to drop hints about who they were to figure that out. I look positively terse by comparison.

I'm laughing at MHaye bringing up the "great murder-off" from Evil Dead. I can't imagine how frustrating that must have been for Story (and eventually, the scum!) at the time, but man it is funny in retrospect.

I do. I think peeker ended up claiming his role to BLaM very early and BLaM helped drive his lynch so he died very early in the game with one kill to his own tally.
And then BLaM failed at every attempted kill until he died and lost.
It was a great setup, too. It was supposed to supply oodles of fun for all concerned.

Oh, and interesting that Pleo apparently voted to save himself, since he's opposed to townies doing that and will vote anybody who does that.

You and Mhaye and Gadarene and maybe even Pizza* too were all playing so well; it's such a shame to lose you on day one from such a fluke thing.
*He looks like scum with scum sauce to me, personally, but hardly anyone's challenging him so what do I know?

I have much faith in them. They didn't even flinch. And I almost talked them into getting rid of texcat, which would have been a boon for Scum. Why are they believing her? Truly, the minute I saw a last minute Vig claim, I thought serial killer. And then in reviewing her PM, it's obvious, but I didn't want to seem panicked about it. I probably would have been a Night 1 target for killers and or investigators anyway. I could have avoided them once, but that's it.

I am seriously at a loss to understand how you thought this would work out any way other than the way it did. Use your powers efficiently and you could have gotten to 10 kills by dawn of Day Six - and of course, though you didn't know it, you could have gotten posthumous help from Harley Quinn under the right circumstances. Not easy, but by claiming on the first Day, you guaranteed your own loss. No Town is ever going to let a claimed third party player whose win condition admittedly includes killing lots of people survive long enough to achieve that condition. Not ever. Well, the easiest answer is that I don't live that long in games, especially games with lots of killing roles. I always attract attention and always have a vocal minority of players who want to eliminate me. There's no way I last that long by hiding. And a forced claim would get me killed faster than an unforced claim. An early, truthful claim was my best chance. And I disagree with town letting a claimed third-party survive. I almost did. A chained third-party working for the town is a huge boon for them, and a big risk for scum. Of course the problem is that many players ignore the evidence and simply use their own prejudices to make judgements. Claims that I was holding the town hostage, when it's the town that held all the power. Claims that I was going to repeat my Day-kill. Not rational. In retrospect, I should have claimed town like texcat did. Even players would have swayed by that distinction without a difference to have switched the lynch. BTW, the way Pleo words his posts, he's obviously studied some Game Theory. Or he watched the TV show "Numbers". One of the two. The former. Never heard of that tv show (I don't watch tv, in general). Oh, and interesting that Pleo apparently voted to save himself, since he's opposed to townies doing that and will vote anybody who does that. Yeah, but I'm not claiming to be town, was I? But actually my vote does not run afoul of my "no votes simply to save oneself", because I voted for whoever was on top at the time. If I'd been clearly in the lynch lead, I would've voted for myself. Killed because I edited? When most people felt I was Town? Did you bother to read the case I made against you? (I guess a lot of other players didn't either.) I didn't vote for you because you edited, but because of how you edited. It was designed to attract attention and so organized that your "drunk" excuse was silly. And how come you didn't send me a secret message, Batman? I sent you one. I'm hurt. ;D
